Music of Life

I will have to be honest with you; one of the first things that get my attention when I listen to a song would be the beat. However, when I analyze the lyrics, I am able to appreciate the music so much more. I do not think that I have ever taken advantage of songs because I give deep thoughts into every song I have listened too. The reason why I try so hard to analyze the lyrics each song is so that I can comprehend the message that the artist is trying to send.

One of my favorite song is called “I made it” by Kevin Rudolf featuring. Birdman, Jay Sean, and Lil Wayne. This is a great song because everything about the track is powerful. For example, the beat starts off very strong, and continues in the same rhythm until the end. The chorus says “I look up to the sky, and now the world is mine, I’ve known this all my life, I made it I made, I use to dream about the life I’m living now I know that there’s no doubt, I made it I made it. I wasn’t known in the city where no one believed in me, but I never gave up a fight. Now I am on the top, I told you let to let rock, now money is falling from the sky.” The chorus alone tells the listeners how much they have struggled, but they are living the way they use to dream. The chorus also explains that they still “made it” even though there was who did not believe in them.

At the end of each chorus, the artists would tell their part of the story. When their part came up, they made the listeners know that they mean business as they recited their poetry. Just by hearing each of the artist’s tone of voice, I can tell that they are happy that they finally get to live their dreams. I also believe that this song is a celebration for all of their success. As for others such as myself, this song can be for those who has “made it” or a motivational theme for people to make it one day. Music is one of the most power elements for mankind because there is always a story being told behind it. Some stories are happy ones, and some are very sad. Some people write their thoughts in diaries and others would just talk about it. Music is a form of poetry, but the only difference with this type of poetry would be that it has an instrumental in the background. Music may be powerful, but not a lot of people understand how powerful it may be. Some people tend to take advantage of their resources in music. In other words, some people tend to overlook songs because all they care about is the beat and a catchy hook. There is more meaning to songs because the lyrics are one of the main elements that speak to us.

This song means a lot to me because I have been through many struggles in my life. Each time I play this song in my IPOD, it makes me want to celebrate how far I have come. I would get goose bumps on my arms when I hear this music because the lyrics echo inside of me as they speak the truth about their struggles in the past. I do not have a lot of money nor do I feel successful, but knowing that I have come a long way makes me feel like I have “made it.”

The Track You Can't Resist

There were a few tracks that I thought was pretty good, but when I heard the “Organ Donor,” which is track 9, it made me start bobbing my head real hard. I was drained from a long day, but this track got me hyper because it made me want to get off my seat and start dancing. I didn’t want to look crazy in front of my girlfriend, so I just danced in my seat. The track got me so hooked that I listened to it seven times in a row. I even listened to it while I was typing up this blog. The instruments were what created the elements of the track. I like the piano part the most because the DJ made it sound like he was going crazy with his piano. It sounded like his fingers were all over the keys. The drums really brought out the track too because it gave the beats a lot of base, and that’s what I like. The track is one of those songs that you can play any where you go. You can play the track in your car, on your IPOD and even at parties. Another reason why I like this track so much is because it reminds me of Cambodian modern music. There were some parts that made me say, “Hey that part sounds like one of those Cambodian Hip Hop songs." Overall, I would recommend this song to everyone of any age because it is one of those types of beats that gets everyone off they seat.
